Two Months

I'll say it every month, I'm sure, but wow, the time is just flying by. Emma is two months old now, and she is doing so many new and cute things. I've already posted pictures of her sweet, pretty smiles that she is showing us. She loves to coo and squeal and can mimic sounds. She is already in size 1 diapers since she is growing so fast! She continues to be a good eater and is sleeping well at night, which makes for a happier household! Emma is fascinated with her big brother, and loves to look at his silly faces. She likes to play on her playmat and look at the toys and bright colors.

Thursday Tim and I took Emma for her two month check up with our pediatrician. She got a great report! She is up to 11 pounds, 4 ounces and is now 22.5 inches. She has really grown aLOT in two months! Poor baby also had to get her first round of shots, but she did really well. Tough girl!

"My cheeks are so big - makes it hard to hold up my head!"

Okay, since I did it last month, I'm going to have to do it every month. I just LOVE to look back at Connell's monthly baby pics! We should have seen his BIG personality coming with the smirky smile on his face at 2 months!

Trunk or Treat

My MOPS group organized a new fall activity this year, a Trunk or Treat! It was really fun and Connell enjoyed "practicing" for Halloween. It's so cute to see all the kids in their costumes!

Okay, so our trunk decor wasn't so spectactular - I'll do better next year!

Getting the hang of it!

More pics from the weekend...

We really had a nice weekend. Saturday afternoon, Tim and I went to see a movie. What a treat! We saw "Couples Retreat" and it was hilarious! Connell was napping and never even knew we had gone and Grandma and Grandpa got to have some quality time with Emma. She smiled so much this weekend. Last week, she would really only smile for Tim :) but now she is just full of smiles for anyone that will talk silly to her and if you stick your tongue out, you get rewarded with a super-big grin!

The weather was nice Sunday so we took a walk to the playground. Another great opportunity to work with our new camera lens as you'll see below.

Connell's Cookies

My Mom & Dad were here this past weekend. Mom called earlier in the week and said she was going to make and bring cookie dough so she and Connell could make fun Halloween cookies. This was a big hit with Connell! He enjoyed making a mess! And the finished product is delicious!

Pumpkins, ghosts & bats!

Sweet Smile!

It's not the greatest quality picture because it was taken with my Mom's phone, but the smile sure makes up for it! :) Sweet girl!

Enjoying Fall at the Zoo

Tim has recently had some time off from work (that's a separate post entirely) and we are making the most of this opportunity for quality family time. We watched the forecast and decided Wednesday would be the best day to make a trip to the zoo. It was a pretty day and we had a blast! It's so neat to watch Connell's interest grow each time we go to the zoo. And as long as we keep a steady stream of snacks handy, he has no problem riding in the stroller to take in the sights. He is loving riding in the new double stroller with Emma. But let me add, WOWzers! That is a workout! Connell (33 lbs), Emma (11ish lbs) and the stroller (@35 lbs) - Tim and I were both worn out! We are looking forward to many more trips to the zoo and can't wait for Emma to enjoy it as much as her big brother.
**this was the first time we got to use our new lens we got for our camera. LOVE it!
Connell with a cheek-ful of "froo snax!" (Fruit snacks) :)

Go Yankees!

Connell is pumped for the playoffs! My Mom and Dad recently took a trip to the BIG APPLE and brought Connell this tshirt! Tim and I can't wait to take Connell to a Yankees game someday!!! I snapped this picture really quick this morning before taking Connell to Mother's Day Out. He was excited to say "Go Yankees" to all his friends at school. :)

As Connell's Daddy says - "there is nothing better than October baseball." Well, except maybe this sweet boy!

Weekend Review! (a few days late)

Meme, Papa, Uncle Kelly, Uncle Patrick and Samantha came to visit us this past weekend. Since it was like winter outside, we were stuck indoors but had fun anyway! Friday night we went and had a wonderful dinner at Aunt Kristy's house. It was a great time! Saturday was football day - and unfortunately, Notre Dame didn't win, but that's okay. :) Isn't it???
We were celebrating Meme's birthday so we had a delicious dinner at home Saturday night followed by a yummy cake! Emma got lots of cuddling and Connell enjoyed "playing cars" will all his guests!

I Love MOPS!!!

I have blogged about my MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group before, but I feel like I need to again. I have missed the first 2 meetings this year since MOPS began right after Emma was born. I am VERY excited to get back to meetings this month. It is a refreshing, inspirational time for me and I am missing it! Plus, I am ready to introduce Emma to all my sweet friends!

The MOPS Convention was held in Nashville a few weeks ago and alot of girls from our group attended. Jennifer posted this about convention, and I think it's worth sharing. I think on a few of these points, they were speaking DIRECTLY to me!

Also, let me just say how much of a blessing MOPS has been to me since I had Emma...we had meals brought to us almost the whole month of September by various friends/neighbors, many of them my wonderful friends from MOPS. I have gotten emails, phonecalls, notes, etc with love and encouragement from my MOPS friends. I am so blessed to be a part of this group!

Sweet Emma!

Emma will be 6 weeks old tomorrow. It is hard to believe, but at the same time, I can tell it's been 6 weeks because so much change has happened in our home and lives. It was a little rough in the beginning (I can't lie!) but as everyone kept telling me, it has gotten better. And most importantly, Emma is doing well and growing by the minute! She is holding her head up, making sweet cooing sounds, and all kinds of other *interesting* sounds that her brother and Daddy find very amusing. I'll have to teach her "lady" manners later! She is getting so big, we just promoted her to size 1 diapers. Overall, she is a happy baby and we couldn't be any happier that she has joined our family! Here are some pics of our sweet girl from this past week...

Look at those sweet feet!!!!

Emma is so excited about her new "girly" carseat cover! Can't you tell???

Big yawn!

Dear Emma - this is the only time Daddy and I ever want you to have words on your bottom! :)

Fall Picture Day

Connell had Fall pictures made at Mother's Day Out today. I don't know yet how the pictures turned out, but I took a few of my own this morning just to capture the cuteness that is Connell!

It's hard to believe he is almost two and a half!

In the meantime, Emma is starting to try out her new Baby Einstein playmat...this is a rare moment that she isn't having to share it with her brother!
