Happy 2nd Birthday, Connell!

Happy Birthday to our sweet and funny little boy! You are the joy of our lives! I know that your Daddy and I are very partial because you are our baby boy, but oh my goodness, you are the cutest thing we've ever seen. SEE.....!!!!!!

Maiden Voyage!

Tim assembled Connell's wagon (a Christmas gift from Meme & Papa) Sunday and we took it for a quick spin around the neighborhood. Connell really enjoyed it! I can't wait for the day that he and Emma are riding in it together! What fun!

Yardwork is fun!

This was a busy and productive weekend for us. We had lots of outside work to get done before Connell's birthday party next weekend. Well, Connell loves to be outside so it was great for him! A little hot for me, but that's only going to get worse! :)

It's Sunday night, and we are feeling very accomplished...mulch has been spread, flowers have been planted and watered, weeds have been pulled, and of course, the laundry is all done - with the help of my little man! And in the middle of all that, my hubby had the time & energy to play in a golf tournament. :) We are exhausted. Connell had a blast playing and digging in the dirt and both Saturday and Sunday, took 3+hour naps as a result. Life is good!

Our 9th Anniversary!

On April 29th, Tim and I will celebrate 9 years of marriage! It's amazing, and awesome! And I can't believe it's been 9 years. Wow-how things have changed! And we are loving every minute!

Friday night, Connell's school had Parents Night Out babysitting, so Tim and I took advantage and headed out for a nice dinner. It was the perfect night!

Art!

It's been a long time since I've posted a picture of Connell's art from school, so when he brought home this pretty butterfly art, I knew I had to share! I think it's precious! And he is very proud of it. He keeps pointing it out to us as it hangs on the refridgerator, like he wants to remind us that he made it. Cutie pie!

"Bubbles!"

Connell has a new favorite thing to do...all day, everyday. He likes to wash clothes. He calls it "bubbles!" And it's usually the very first thing he asks to do each day. As a result, I am staying very current with our laundry for a change. He stands on a box and I hand him the clothes and he drops them in and watches as the water fills and starts to spin. And I have learned, I need to watch very closely; sometimes non-laundry items end up in the washer!

Please excuse the extreme mess in the background of these pictures. Cleaning out the "catch-all" laundry room is on my to-do list before our new baby arrives. :) We'll see!

A Very Full Social Calendar...

This past weekend was a busy one for our family. First, let's just set the tone leading up to the weekend. Stomach virus...Tim...then me. Not fun. I'll leave out the grisly details. We are just so thankful that our little buddy didn't get it. I must send a HUGE special thank you to our dear friends, the Jacobs, who really came to the rescue on Thursday. I was so sick I couldn't even leave the house. Shannon picked Connell up from Mother's Day Out and kept him until Tim got home from work. Then Tim and Connell played at the Jacobs and ate dinner - thus avoiding me and my germs the whole day! They came home just in time for bedtime. Connell had a blast...he has the best time at their house...they have 2 dogs and lots of cows out behind their house! What else can you ask for?!!!!
Thankfully, I felt like a new woman (for the most part) Friday morning, which is good, because I was gearing up for a busy weekend. It began with a birthday party for our good friend Jackson, who turned 3!

After that, it was time for bed so we could get up Saturday morning and drive to Memphis. As soon as we got there, it was time for Tim's cousin Ambry's Briday Shower. She is getting married in July, and this was the family shower. She is so sweet and we are very excited for her and her fiance, Caleb!

Sunday, my Mom and I gave Katie (Connell's godmother & really, such a good friend, she's a part of our family!) a baby shower. Katie and her husband Andy are expecting their first baby, a boy, in about a month. We can't wait to meet baby Gus!

Fun baby gifts!

It was a wonderful weekend, full of family, friends, fun and food! :) Needless to say, when we got home Sunday night at 8, we were all worn out and ready for bed! Here's looking forward to a healthy week for all so I can catch up from last week!

Getting ready to be 2!

Connell's birthday is coming up at the end of the month. We can't believe he is going to be 2! I've said it too many times on this blog...TIME IS JUST FLYING BY!!!!

We headed outside to get a picture to use on the birthday party invitation...clearly, POOH is the theme this year! They are best buddies!

Baby news... IT'S A .....

We had our ultrasound this morning, and are so excited to know that our new baby is a GIRL!!!! Emma Kathryn will be joining our family! Connell will have a baby sister! Most importantly, everything looked great on the ultrasound, so we are thanking God for that!

Long before Emma became #1 on the girl name list, Tim and I fell in love with the name. Several years ago, even before Connell came along, we bought this...it was on clearance at a baby boutique when we were on vacation, and we put it away, and brought it out today! Just recently, there was another 'girl' name in the running, also with an "E"...so this morning, when we found out the baby is a girl, we had to decide. Connell overheard me mention the name Emma on the phone about a month ago, and said it right away. He says it all the time and it's so cute how he says it. SO - that's it! Emma it is!

So glad she already has something to wear! The "E" on the booty is cute today...Tim probably won't think it's so cute when she is a teenager and wants to wear those itty bitty shorts with words on the bottom! Oh no...that's a worry for another day!

Thank you so much for all your prayers. Keep praying!

Our weekend...

This weekend, Tim's parents (Meme & Papa) came to visit. Connell was very happy to see them, despite the fact that he was a bit under the weather. I was getting sick too, and by Saturday evening, we were both in MISERY. We did manage to have some fun prior to that. We celebrated Tim's upcoming birthday, played at the playground, and went to our friend Julianna's birthday party.

"Happy birthday to you!"

Showers of blue!

My friend Jennifer is expecting her 3rd baby, this time a boy, near the end of May. So Thursday night, another friend of hers and I gave her a baby shower. Despite terrible storms in our area, we had a lovely evening. It's funny...3 years ago when I gave her a shower for her first baby, it SNOWED! We should be used to the inclement weather problem!

Zoo day!

We had a beautiful spring day and decided to go to the zoo with our friends (spring break for them)! We had a great day! Connell enjoyed it all, and I enjoyed the fact that Ian was such a little gentleman and wanted to push Connell's heavy stroller most of the day! :)

All worn out!
