A little of this, a little of that!

This post will be a little all over the place...that's just the kind of week we've had.
Saturday Tim took off with his buddies for a quick guy's trip. Jeeping. Yep, jeeping. A couple of them have jeeps (and yes, now my hubby wants one too) and they go down to some place near Columbia, Tennessee and 'off-road' in their jeeps, etc. Tim had a blast with the boys and their toys! ha!
Saturday afternoon we had a birthday party to attend to celebrate Chloe's 3rd birthday. It was at the same place we are having Connell's party in a few months, and we have several to go to there between now and then, so I am sure Connell will be OVER THE TOP excited each time we go there. It was a fun party and I was so proud of Connell's behavior. I mean, overall, he is a great and sweet boy, but let's face it...it's sometimes tough to be 2-almost 3. He was a nice boy, & used nice manners. That makes Mommy feel like we are doing something right.

Connell & the birthday girl!

Connell enjoying his party loot!

We had a weekend of beautiful weather, but then it turned very cold again. So I decided to tackle some indoor projects. I cleaned/organized Connell & Emma's dressers & closets. As you can see, I had a lot of help, and even a little model on my hands!

As long as we were trying on swim suits, Emma wanted hers on too! Um, not so sure if that's gonna fit when summer gets here :)

Swimming and slippers! **Note** when this was taken, there were huge snowflakes falling outside the window!
And here is the sweetest boy ever helping with Emma's bedtime bottle and her breakfast cereal. As you can see, over the course of the week, she has grown to like her cereal, and now even smiles while she eats it.

He looks so proud!

This isn't the best pic cuz it was from my phone, but I just love it anyway! Had to share!

"That Yucky!"

Friday we got the highchair out of the attic (seems like we just put it up there :)) and gave Emma her first taste of cereal. I don't think I need to give any further explanation. The pictures say it all!

So far, so good.

Um, not sure I like it.

And Connell said on Emma's behalf - "That yucky!"

Our Week...

Mommy had a fun and busy week this week. Monday night - bunco! Thursday night - our MOPS group had a super fun progressive dinner, combined with a wild scavenger hunt! Friday night - jewelry party with friends. It's been great, but I am tired. And my house - a mess. Oh well! I have enjoyed my "playtime" but missed my family too! Not much planned for next week, so that will be a nice break.

Thursday at MDO they celebrated the 50th day of school (well probably not really 50 if you count snow days, haha!). All the kids looked so cute. Connell let me gel his hair. He told me afterwards "Mommy, I don't like jelly in my hair!"

Lately...

Just when everyone gets with the program (whatever that is!) and is rolling along...things change! Oh well!

Connell has missed a whole bunch of Mother's Day Out days due to all these snow days we are having this season. Our county has already taken 10 (yes, ten) snowdays. I think Connell has missed 4 at MDO. I love my sweet boy with every ounce of my being, but I also know that I need a break, just as he needs a break from me and Emma so he can do fun MDO stuff! It's hard not being able to go to the playground or be outside. I am sooooo ready for spring!

In addition, poor little Emma got her first 2 teeth last week. Earlier than I expected, I guess, only because Connell didn't get his first until he was 8 months, and she is only 5 months. Our Emma, who is always happy and rarely fussy has been, of course, fussy. I can only imagine how it feels to get a tooth. :( I really hope she is feeling better soon. It's not easy to see her sad little face.

Here are some pictures from our week. Grandma and Grandpa came to spend the weekend with us. Connell was sweet wishing everyone a "Happy Balmentines's Day!" He always says "I love you so much!"

One day last week, I went to check on Emma during her nap, and discovered a "wardrobe malfunction!" :) No off-the-shoulder fashion for Emma! ha!
Connell + Grandpa + playdoh = hours of fun!

Patty cakes!

Toes are yummy!

Five Months!

Sweet, sweet Emma! Here's what you are up to at 5 months:
  • You are still in a size 2 diaper, but I think soon we'll need to try some 2-3. You and your rolls! You are just getting bigger and bigger everyday, and I am just hoping we can make it to spring before you completely outgrow all your winter clothes.
  • You are great at grabbing objects with your hands now. You can hold a paci and put it in your mouth. For that matter, you put everything in your mouth!
  • You love it when we kiss you and blow raspberries on your tummy! You have the cutest laugh!
  • You smile a huge smile when your Daddy gets home. You smile a huge smile when you wake up in the morning and I come to get you.
  • You are rolling everywhere now. No more leaving you on the bed. You roll across the floor now and all around your crib. Lately, we are finding you asleep on your tummy tucked up in the corner of your crib (sometimes sucking your thumb!).
  • You like bathtime. You don't even mind that Connell tries to help and gets water everywhere! You are such a good sport!
  • You are just a happy baby. I say that all the time. You make my job as your Mommy a joy!
