Yummy!

What kid doesn't like to lick the beaters after Mommy mixes up something tasty? We were making a Dirt Cake (a delicious summer treat!) to take to a cookout with friends and Connell was introduced to licking the beaters! It was so cute! And the funniest part was the next morning when he was helping me unload the dishwasher. He licked the clean beaters again...just making sure he didn't miss anything, I guess!

Funny Video!

I was a lucky lucky lady and got to celebrate my birthday with my most favorite people while we were at the beach. However, on the morning of my actual birthday, the 27th, Connell woke up and he and his Daddy gave me a very interesting card. Let's just say, it makes a funny "bodily noise" when you open it, and my little boy (and his Daddy) got a BIG laugh out of it. Just had to share this video.

Life's a Beach!

It's taken me almost a week, but who's counting! (my Mom!) I finally put together a slideshow from our wonderful week at the beach. Connell was a great little travel buddy! He loves the beach! He woke up bright and early every morning (and I mean EARLY-like an hour earlier than he wakes at home) and was ready to go. He would say all our names and then "Beach, pool, beach, pool!" Cute and irresistible, even at 6am!
The slideshow is a little longer than usual because I included a couple of videos that I took during the week. There is a video from this neat fun place to eat called Lulu's. While you wait for your table (a long time) there is this huge sand play area and tons of toys for the kids. Connell had a blast dancing to the live music!
I promised myself that there would be NO photo proof of me in my maternity bathing suit, but oh well! Then there would be no pics of Mommy from the beach! :)
It's so wild to think that Emma will be with us on our next beach trip! This pregnancy is flying by and I can't seem to grasp the reality that in a little over 3 months, we will meet our baby girl! It's really time for us to be working on her room...that's another post entirely by itself!
So, enjoy the slideshow! Hope it makes you feel (even for a moment) that you were right there with us! You really would have wanted to be there for that YUMMY chocolate cake my guys got me so we could celebrate my birthday!

A Wonderful Mother's Day!

I had a truly wonderful day with my guys on Mother's Day! We played at the park, I rested :) and Daddy made a delicious meal...just what the preggo wanted! Ribs, grilled corn-on-the-cob, pasta salad, and LEMONADE!!!!
I am so thankful that God chose me to be Connell's Mommy! I enjoyed the "pampering" on Mother's Day, but mostly, I enjoyed just reflecting on what Motherhood has become to me, and how it is ever-changing. I love being Connell's Mommy, and can't wait to be Emma's Mommy too!
And of course, we have to say Happy Mother's Day to our mothers as well, for without them, well, who knows where we'd be! Love you!!!

The Easy Life of a 2 Year Old!

Two Year Well-Child Visit

Tim and I took Connell for his 2 year old well-child visit to Dr. Patterson this morning. I was so glad that Tim took the morning off to join us. It's just nice having someone else to help entertain Connell while we wait in the doctor's office. :)

So here's the big boy report! Connell weighs 32 pounds (okay, that's fully dressed with shoes & diaper)! He is 34.5 inches tall! Wow! Dr. Patterson said "he's perfect!" She always says that...and it's just what Mommy and Daddy want to hear. Connell did really well with everything. He did have to get one shot and he cried, but the real tears came as we were leaving and Mommy wouldn't let him play with the toys in the "sick" waiting room. Umm, no thanks, swine flu!
