Waiting...with my boys!

Well, here's the plan. At my doctor's appointment on Thursday he told me that if I haven't gone into labor on my own, I should come to the hospital Monday morning at 6am to be induced. And here it is, Saturday night, and I'm not at the hospital. :)

I've really just spent the last 2 days resting and loving on Connell. We took him for a haircut today, and he looks cuter than words can say. Tonight, my hubby and sweet little boy took me on a 'date' for dinner at Carraba's. I was craving pasta. This was our last time to go out to dinner as a party of 3! After that, we stopped by a cookout at a friend's house to visit for a little while. We're just enjoying family time, and showering Connell with all our love (as we always do!) but I think it's just getting to be an emotional time for us - for me, anyway! :)

So, the plan for tomorrow is church and of course, Cracker Barrel, and the grandparents are all headed this way. Unless something changes, Monday is the day! Connell was born on a Monday. I like Mondays!

Here is a pic from tonight. If Emma is as adorable as her brother (and of course she will be) - we are in trouble! :)
***the hospital has internet, so I will update with a pic asap!***

Counting!

Connell amazes me with how quickly he's learning to count and say his ABC's. Here's a clip of counting, sort of. He is counting the monkeys in the book. He usually skips 1 and 12, but otherwise, it's pretty good!!!! Although the book is about only 8 monkeys....

...Still Nesting...

38 weeks + a few days = BIG!!!
Say "CHEESE!"
Ready for Church (Connell calls it Jesus's House)

Sunday, after church and the Cracker Barrel (Connell's latest fixation!), Tim and Connell decided they were going to "nest" like men and clean out the garage. :) This was so cute to me! I am sure Baby Emma will appreciate a clean garage.

My Blog is Boring...

I keep trying to come up with something fun to blog about. Like the arrival of Emma Kathryn. But alas, nothing yet. So I tried to scrape together something...here goes...!
We are nesting. All of us. Well, maybe not Tim so much. But he nests as directed and is helping me clean and does miscellaneous "honey-do's" without any comments! Connell, on the other hand, he's nesting. Do you have a helper like this? He is constantly sweeping or vacuuming. But in the dinosaur underwear - now that's a sight!

Yesterday, I went to see my doctor. I am 38 weeks (and a day, now) - but who's counting! :) This was actually my second trip this week. Monday morning, I had an unexpected visit because I didn't feel like Emma was as active over the weekend as usual. Of course, once I got to his office and they hooked me up to the fetal heart monitor, she started jumping around as usual, and has pretty much been doing it all week. And she has the hiccups usually 2 times a day, just like her brother did! Connell came in at the very end of my visit Monday (my awesome friend Shannon came and kept him occupied while Tim and I were in the office). I was still sitting in the big comfy recliner and had the monitor on my belly when Connell came in. I don't think he was too sure about all that, but he could hear Emma's heartbeat really well, and for the rest of this week, has been telling everyone that he heard Baby Emma's heart and it said "boom boom boom boom." Such a sweetie!

Back to yesterday's visit. Not a lot to report. However, my doctor is going to be out starting on my due date (9/3) for Labor Day weekend, so he did say that if I haven't delivered before my appointment next Thursday, we'll discuss delivering (inducing) before he leaves. YAY! Definitely want him to be there for the big event. And that puts a light at the end of the tunnel for me...kind of!

So I was a little bummed when I left there; not sure why. It's not like going to the doctor means I am going to see my baby or anything. Since Connell was at Mother's Day Out and I had time to kill, I decided to patronize a somewhat new business in town - Gigi's Cupcakes! Oh my! I have had one of their cupcakes once before at bunco, but this was my first visit in the bakery. I should now try to forget how to get there. Although, it's conveniently located right across from the hospital where I'll have Emma...do I see a special "birthing" cupcake in my future???!!! I grabbed a few cupcakes and shared with a friend at lunch, and then brought one home for my hubby. I replaced my icecream craving with cupcakes for a day! And it sure was yummy!

Let's see...not much else to report. It's pretty much a repeat routine around here. Keep up with Connell, keep up with laundry, try to keep the house somewhat straight (gotta leave a clean house when I go into labor :)) rest when I can, and then go to bed wondering "WHEN"! Repeat again the next day! Bags are packed. We'll see. Please keep our growing family in your prayers! Thank you!

Mother's Day Out!

**UPDATE** Apparently Connell had a good day today! His teacher said he talks alot! HA! Wonder who he gets that trait from?!?!?!?! Sweet boy!

Today was the first day for the new Mother's Day Out year. Connell went once a week during the summer too, but this was the first day in his new classroom. We met his teachers, Ms. Anna and Ms. Helen last week. They seem very sweet! He did great when I dropped him off this morning. I can't wait to pick him up and see how his day went. It sure is quiet in this house....

Emma's Room

We have finally put together most of the finishing touches on Emma's room. I still plan to add a few things, like something to hang over her bookshelf. Hope she enjoys her room, and sleeps well in it! :)

Baby Shower for Baby Emma!

My sweet friends Amber, Jennifer and Shannon hosted a baby shower for me & Emma this past weekend. It was beautiful and so much fun! We are so thankful and grateful for all of our wonderful friends/family who shared this day with us and showered me & Emma with so much love!

More Miscellaneous

I know we've been quiet on the blog lately. There's just not a whole lot to say. It's hot. We try to stay where it's cool and comfortable and where there's a potty near by (for both me and Connell!).
Here are some cute pics of our big boy.

It's partially the angle, but look HOW BIG he is! Play hard, sleep hard!

Daddy and Connell assembled the new double stroller and Connell couldn't wait to try it out!
