Monday morning. Holiday. Sleep in? Nooooo! Run a steamy, hot 5k? Yes!

After a little rest, we headed over to a friend's house to help them "break-in" their new pool. We had a yummy cookout and watched our kids play until it was almost dark. We have a couple of little swimmers on our hands.

A great end to a wonderful long weekend filled with family and friends.

Birthday/Memorial Day Weekend

After my fun surprise birthday celebration friday night, my Mom and Dad arrived early Saturday to spend the weekend with us. We all went to one of my favorite restaurants for lunch and after naptime, we grilled and played outside.

My Birthday!

We are usually at the beach for my birthday each year. The only year I can recently remember NOT being at the beach was in 2007 because Connell was only four weeks old. We went to the beach later that year instead. Since our trip to the beach for this summer had to be rescheduled, we were going to be home for my birthday. My sweet friend Shannon, her hubby and my man managed to pull off a BIG surprise party for me and let me tell you, I was indeed surprised. Not a single friend slipped up or let on that anything was planned. It was wonderful and honestly, I was quite giddy for several days afterward :-)! I am blessed by so many precious friendships.

So one day, all by myself, I decided to dress my kids and try to get some decent pictures. I am wanting to do a wall collage (among other projects) and want my center picture to be Connell and Emma together. NOT always an easy task...

This is quite possibly my favorite picture ever taken of them. This came after I finally gave up on them looking at me and told them to look at eachother. Perfect! love their faces here

May Misc-just stuff I want to remember

Our friend, Chase, turned 2. We were so excited to celebrate with him at his CHOO CHOO party. Emma was sick and couldn't go with us, but Connell and Mommy had fun! It was unseasonable COLD for the middle of May. Of course, now that I am finally posting this it's 98degrees and I would like to go back to this weather! ha!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to my MOM!!! You are a wonderful example to live by and I treasure our friendship and relationship! You are kind, strong, generous, loving, patient and FUN and I hope to be just like you when I finally grow up! ;-) I love you.

Happy Mother's Day to me. Every day is happy when you are chosen by God to mother these two precious babies. It's not without struggle or exhaustion, but I wouldn't change a thing! They (and their Daddy) were especially good to me all day on Sunday and I got to relax a little!
This is for my friend Marci...she wonders how I always get such good pictures and marvels that Connell and Emma are so cooperative. Really??!!
