Well, Connell got the chance to celebrate his birthday one last time while we were in Memphis at Meme & Papa's house. We had a little cookout and cake and then took a ride in Papa's antique car! Singing Happy Birthday!

What a ZOO!
While we were in Memphis for Gus's party, we made a trip to the wonderful Memphis Zoo. It has been forever since Tim and I have been there. It is ranked 2nd best zoo behind San Diego, and let me tell you, it is awesome!
I took a ton of pictures, and this post will have a TON of pictures. I was having too much fun with the zoom lens. It looks like we were up close and personal with some fierce animals. I was joking with Tim all day telling him that I was a photographer for National Geographic! They will be calling me! :)

Sweet Birthday Boys!
This past weekend, we celebrated the first birthdays of two cutie little boys, Chase and Gus. I am sure their mommies would agree that this year went by TOO fast. And if they are turning 1, then that means Emma is not far behind, and that makes this mommy want to cry!
Friday night, we had a little monkey-business (haha!) at Chase's party. It was fun! Connell had a blast because it was raining and he got to play in the rain. What more can you ask! Then early Saturday morning, we jumped in the car and headed to Olive Branch for our Godson's first birthday party. Gus is such a sweetie, and he had so much fun at his party. He clearly loves cake like his Godmother does! And there is nothing wrong with that!
Here are some pics from the festivities!

What's in a Name?
This post is really just for my memory...because I have this written on a scrap of paper, and I need it on this blog so I won't lose it. :)
I strongly believe that our children "fit" their names. I am sure many people wonder where we came up with Connell's name. Connell is Tim's father's and grandfather's middle name. Stanley was my grandfather (maternal). We decided loooonnnnng before we starting making babies that would be our boy's name. Funny thing is, we could never find Connell is any "babyname" book. I am sure in the motherland (haha) - Ireland - it was probably O'Connell at some point.
Well, at Target a while ago, we picked up a babyname book (don't be alarmed) and CONNELL was in there. It means "one who is high and mighty." Oh goodness. We have our work cut out for us (wink, wink).
And then there is sweet Emma. No family history there. Just a beautiful name that Tim and I came up with long before Rachel named her baby Emma on Friends and shot right to the top of the baby name list. But nonetheless, when we learned we were having a girl, there really didn't need to be much discussion. Emma Kathryn. Emma means "one who is complete; universal woman." She can be Emma O in school...as I am sure there will be plenty of Emmas around. But she is our Emma.
And, I feel I must also mention, the beautifully named "Tinklebell Reagan". When I was pregnant the very first time (before Connell) we lost the baby at 11 weeks. Tests later showed that it was a baby girl. We sort of already knew that, since Reagan (4 at the time) laid her head in my lap one evening and said it was a girl in my belly, and then gave her the above name. At that point in Reagan and Taylor's life, Tinkerbell was TINKLEBELL. Perfect. She has always been referred to with her sweet name. And always will. Connell pointed to a star in the sky the other night and said "that's Tinklebell Reagan's star."

Eight Months Old!
Well, almost 9 since Mommy is so far behind with this blog. This picture, however, was taken at the beginning of May!
Sitting pretty!
Emma, you bring such joy to this family! You are doing great and growing into such a spirited sweet girl! You are very "go with the flow" which makes life easier with 2 kids under the age of three.
You are now eating all kinds of fruits and veggies, and oddly enough, we think you prefer the veggies. I really think you want to eat what we are eating. You grab for what is on the table all the time! You are quite in love with your thumb. :) You also REALLY like to eat your feet. It's so stinkin' cute!
You are such a little talker. You definitely know your name, and you know who your family members are, too. We all call you Emms, even Connell does and you answer to that too!
Love it!
Can't wait to see what the next month holds. We are taking you on your first trip to the beach!
